Speaker calls emergency session of National Assembly at 5 pm

The NA session was called after Supreme Court order SBP governor to issue funds to ECP.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Assembly (NA) Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf called an emergency session of the assembly at 5 pm on Friday.
The NA session was called after recent development in the case against government refusal to release funds for elections in Punjab.
According to sources, former president Asif Ali Zardari and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari have reached the Parliament House.
It may be recalled that the Supreme Court has ordered the State Bank Governor to release funds directly to the Election Commission for the election in Punjab.
During hearing of the case, the attorney general informed the court that a bill for release of funds tabled in the NA has been rejected and the federal could not act against the parliament's order. On it the Supreme Court ordered the governor of State Bank to directly issue funds to the Electin Commission.
