Saad Rafique calls for holding provincial, national assemblies' elections simultaneously

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Tuesday said general elections should be held across the country at stipulated time citing economic conditions of the country.

He expressed his views while talking to media outside a court in Lahore where he attended a hearing in a case related to the Paragon Housing Society. The judge has ordered the investigation officer of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to submit supplementary challan against co-accused persons during the next hearing otherwise he would decide the acquittal pleas. He, later, adjourned the case till Feb 22.

Mr Rafique said country was facing acute financial crisis, so it was not possible to hold elections for provincial assemblies and National Assembly separately.
