KP to take up development funds for merged areas issue with PM

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) caretaker Chief Minister (CM) Azam Khan on Wednesday said the government would take up the issue of development funds for KP merged areas with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The caretaker CM chaired a session that reviewed the province’s economic situation, and he was briefed on the delay in transfer of funds from the federation and remaining payments to KP. The CM was told that the federation was liable to pay Rs61.89 bn for hydro-electricity. In response, the CM said the province could not shoulder the burden of unnecessary expenses.
