Imran gives call for protest outside ECP office against caretaker Punjab CM’s appointment
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A day after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) appointed Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi as caretaker Punjab chief minister, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan called on Monday for protest against the election of caretaker CM.
Mr Khan presided over the party’s consultative meeting, at which the election of a caretaker CM was highlighted, and it was decided to strongly protest the ECP’s decision. The PTI had decided to stage a protest tomorrow outside the ECP’s Punjab office.
The petition will also be filed tomorrow in court to challenge the appointment of caretaker chief minister. In response to the appointment of Mohsin Naqvi as caretaker chief minister, Mr Khan stated that the ECP showed it was bias.
