In an interview with BBC Urdu, Imran Khan predicted next general elections in country in April 2023.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and former prime minister Imran Khan on Wednesday denied links with the country’s new military leadership. He also said that the next general elections in the country will be held in April 2023.

Imran Khan stated this during an interview with BBC Urdu. The former prime minister said that his party currently has no relationship with the new leadership which is now under the command of the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir.

Imran Khan alleged that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s government came into power through horse trading and not through election. He predicted that the next general elections in the country will be held in April 2023.

Imran Khan said that coalition rulers have kept themselves above the law and came into power to end the corruption cases against them. He said that corruption cases against Shehbaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, and Maryam Nawaz have been closed after amendment in NAB laws.

Talking about the present economic situation in the country, Imran Khan said that no investor or businessperson trusts the incumbent government and neither do foreign investors.

“Pakistan has been plunged into a quagmire. To save the country from a Sri Lanka-like situation, we need free and fair elections,” the PTI chairman said.
