Karachi violence: SC adjourns hearing till Friday

The larger bench of the Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing on sue moto notice till tomorrow.

The hearing on sue moto notice regarding target killing in Karachi continued on Thursday. The larger bench of SC accepted ISI’s appeal and decided to hear the report in the chamber.Counsel for MQM Farrukh Naseem said that a commission should be formed for an impartial investigation.Giving his remarks, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that the formation of commission is always demanded to divert the attention from solving the problem. The CJP said that MQM left government for its vested interests.He further said that he was shocked over the statement of DG Rangers that terrorists were present in within the political parties.In his remarks, Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani said that the public opinion was in favour of Pakistan not MQM.In their joint remarks, the CJP and Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali said that Karachi and Sindh would become peaceful if the criminal elements were thrown out of there.
