Punjab govt to form law reforms commission

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Punjab government on Thursday decided to form law reforms commission in a cabinet committee on law affairs session chaired by Provincial Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Raja Basharat.

Provincial ministers Raja Yasir Humayun, Ali Afzal Sahi, and Khurram Shehzad Virk also attended the session.

The session passed the bill to protect lawyers while performing professional duties, and approved the proposal to give the control of Khair-ul-Madaris Primary School to the Khair-ul-Madaris university.

On the other hand, the session also recommended to extend the tenure of Chairperson Child Protection Bureau Sara Ahmad, appointed Afsar Ahmad Malik as Managing Director (MD) Punjab Danish Schools, nominated Secretary Treasury Department Mujahid Sherdil as Director Punjab Bank, decided to establish special sexual offenses and investigation units under Anti-rape Act, and named the road from Qila Sattar Shah to Muridke after former MNA Syed Manzoor Hussain Bukhari.
