Ijaz ul Haq calls on Imran amid no-trust vote saga

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Zia (PML-Z) chairman Ijaz ul Haq on Monday called on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan amid calls for no-trust vote against Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Parvez Elahi.

Speaking to media outside Mr Imran’s residence at Zaman Park, former president Zia ul Haq’s son said he had met Mr Imran after a long time. “Country’s economy is on the verge of default and only fresh elections could steer the country out of crisis”, he added. The present dilapidation, he said, had been brought by the incumbent government.

He said he could play a role in mediation [between the government and the opposition]. “I have asked the government what would happen if the elections were held a few months earlier”, he added.
