Punjab CTD arrests five terrorist in IBO
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A team of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested five terrorists posing threat to major cities of Punjab, including Gujranwala, Sahiwal and Lahore during an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO).
CTD officials said the suspects belonged to the proscribed TTP and they had been identified as Inamul Haq, Maskeenullah, Wahid Khan, Sher Naqeeb and Shah Wali. Explosives, weapons and material to make suicide jackets were recovered from the possession of the suspects.
Official added that the suspects were shifted to an undisclosed locality for investigation after registering four cases against them.
The Punjab CTD has conducted 526 combing operations within a week on the directions of the Punjab IGP, in which 130 suspects were arrested and 21,227 interrogated.
