Junaid Safdar denies involvement in politics for now

( Web Desk ) - The grandson of three-time Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif denied the rumours about joining the politics and insisted that he would not take part in any political activity for now.

Taking to Instagram, he said, “he has moved to Pakistan purely to be of service to his parents, family and community.” He said at present, he did not have any interest in politics, adding he had missed the cold weather of Lahore and was loving it.

His explanation comes amid reports about his possible role in politics to help his mother - PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz - in the next elections. Maryam and her father have left for a week-long trip to Geneva and the visit coincides with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s attendance at the UN-led donors  conference, where the premier will appeal to the international community for assistance for the post-flood rehabilitation.

Earlier, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said Maryam Nawaz would be returning to Pakistan in the third week of January.
