PTI contacts JI ahead of Sindh LG elections
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member of SIndh Assembly Khurram Sher Zaman on Tuesday contacted Jamat-e-Islami (JI) president Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman and discussed political situation ahead of local government (LG) elections in Sindh.
Mr Zaman suggested to formulate a strategy regarding LG elections adding Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) had no place in the local government.
Mr Rehman said the JI struggled to resolve Karachi’s issues in real time adding there was no ambiguity regarding the elections. “We won’t let anyone run away from the elections”, he added.
Sources said both parties could formulate a joint-strategy to contest LG elections.
