Government delegation has informed PM Shehbaz Sharif about the outcome of Monday’s meeting.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The talks between Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Mutahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) over delimitation issue hit a deadlock as MQM-P is not ready to back down from its demand of fresh delimitation of constituencies in urban areas of Sindh, Dunya News reported on Monday.

The meeting between PPP and MQM-P to resolve the issue of fresh delimitation of constituencies in urban areas of Sindh before Local Government elections was held at the Bilawal House Karachi. Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) led federal government delegation also attended the meeting.

Speaking after the meeting, MQM-P spokesperson said that we are not doing politics but want to solve the problems of urban Sindh. He said that MQM-P will meet PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari again on Wednesday after getting briefing from the federal government delegation.

He further said that the MQM-P leadership will discuss all these issues with the workers in the general workers  meeting today (Tuesday) to seek their opinion.

On the other hand, PPP believes that that MQM-P demand of fresh delimitation of constituencies in urban areas of Sindh was unjustified as it will swing the local government elections in their favour.

Meanwhile, government delegation has informed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about the outcome of Monday’s meeting.
