SC urged to put names of those who amended NAB ordinance on ECL
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Thursday requested the Supreme Court to include the names of those who amended the NAB ordinance to get relief from their cases in Exit Control List (ECL).
Talking to media at Zaman Park after meeting PTI chairman Imran Khan on Thursday, he declared the rulers thieves and said that that the incumbent rulers made amendments to National Accountability Ordinance (NAO) for ‘personal gains’.
The former minister said that the country’s economy is sinking and ties with Afghanistan were also straining, adding that suppressing the voice of public would be a crime and masses should be given right to vote.
Sh Rasheed went on to say that the rulers two-point agenda is to disqualify Imran Khan and stretch the tenure of interim government that the PTI chairman would never accept.
“I had a discussion on ongoing political situation with the former PM,” he said and added he would announce to dissolve assemblies on December 17.
He said, “The incumbent government is not serious about solving the country’s problems and the political instability would mean death to the country.”
Rasheed reiterated that the only solution to the country’s issues was ‘transparent and immediate elections’, adding that if the government wasn’t serious about elections, then they were not willing for negotiations.
