7 shot, injured as unpaid staff storms KESC building

Seven people have been injured in a clash between KESC guards and unpaid employees.

The employees have been without pay for months. Their spokesperson said as Eid is approaching, they wanted things for their families. He said the perturbed, poor KESC employees who have been denied their right for months stormed into the KESC building. The guards opened fire, injuring seven of them. Angry protesters later torched a police truck in front of the KESC building after police opened fire and tear-gassed to disperse them. A heavy contingent of police is surrounding the area.
