PM in Sukkur to review relief activities in flood-affected areas of Sindh

SUKKUR (APP) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Sukkur on a day-long visit to review relief activities in flood-affected areas of Sindh.

He was given briefing on the damage caused by the unprecedented rains and floods as well as relief and rehabilitation work.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Minister for Water Resources Syed Khursheed Shah, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Later, the Prime Minister also met with flood-affected people.

Talking to media on the occasion, he said the government will leave no stone unturned until all affected families are repatriated and provided all requisite relief.

The Prime Minister said twenty-five thousand rupees will be provided to every affected family under Benazir Income Support Program in Sindh and twenty-eight billion rupees will be disbursed for this purpose.

Earlier, on his arrival at Sukkur Begum Nusrat Bhutto Airport, the prime minister was received by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Syed Khursheed Shah and Murad Ali Shah.

During the flight, the Chairman of National Disaster Management Authority briefed him on the ongoing relief and rehabilitation operation.
