Pakistan reports 2,799 COVID-19 cases as positivity rate dips to 5.34pc

The COVID-19 positivity ratio was recorded at 5.34 percent.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan has reported 37 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,465,910. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 29,553 on Tuesday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 2,799 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.


Province-wise Details


Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 13,267 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,906 in Sindh 6,065 in KP, 990 in Islamabad, 764 in Azad Kashmir, 372 in Balochistan, and 189 in GB.

Furthermore 553,112 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 490,103 in Punjab 204,084 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 131,987 in Islamabad, 40,826 in Azad Kashmir 34,853 in Balochistan and 10,945 in Gilgit-Baltistan.


Tests and Recoveries


Pakistan has so far conducted 25,475,293 coronavirus tests and 52,327 in the last 24 hours. 1,349,189 patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,668 patients are in critical condition.


Positivity Ratio


The COVID-19 positivity ratio was recorded at 5.34 percent.


Vaccine Statistics


So far, 111,408,710 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine including 1,194,989 in last 24 hours. 87,052,879 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 852,298 received their second dose in last 24 hours.

The number of total administered doses has reached to 187,996,736 with 2,017,179 in the last 24 hours.
