Pakistan reports 42 deaths from COVID-19, highest in four months

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan has reported 42 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,442,263. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 29,372 on Thursday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 5,830 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Province-wise Details
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Till now 13,201 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,849 in Sindh 6,023 in KP, 982 in Islamabad, 760 in Azad Kashmir, 368 in Balochistan, and 189 in GB.
Furthermore 546,141 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 483,779 in Punjab 197,937 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 129,758 in Islamabad, 39,323 in Azad Kashmir 34,557 in Balochistan and 10,768 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Tests and Recoveries
Pakistan has so far conducted 25,194,561 coronavirus tests and 59,786 in the last 24 hours. 1,312,819 patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,590 patients are in critical condition.
Positivity Ratio
The COVID-19 positivity ratio was recorded at 9.75 percent.
Vaccine Statistics
So far, 105,575,650 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine including 500,566 in last 24 hours. 82,554,781 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 720,727 received their second dose in last 24 hours.
The number of total administered doses has reached to 177,483,355 with 1,254,125 in the last 24 hours.
