KABUL (Dunya News) – A Pakistani delegation led by Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security Dr Moeed Yusuf on Saturday met with the Second Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Salam Hanafi and acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi in Kabul.

Members of the Afghan Chamber of Commerce were also present during the meeting.

The Afghan Deputy PM said that Afghanistan and Pakistan are brotherly countries with historical, religious and cultural ties and Kabul wanted better relations with Pakistan based on mutual respect.

He said, “We will not allow Afghan territory to be used against any neighboring country.”

On the occasion, Moeed Yousuf said that Pakistan stands by the Afghan people and will continue its support, adding that peace and stability is not possible without deep economic ties.

“Pakistan is committed to implementing regional projects,” he added.

A spokesman for the Islamic Emirate said that the delegation will meet other officials of the Islamic Emirate as well.

“The Islamic Emirate held talks over different issues such as politics, trade, the economy, transit and the extension of bilateral relations,” said Inamullah Samangani, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate.

Earlier, Pakistan s ambassador to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan said on his Twitter handle that Dr Moeed Yusuf held a meeting with acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi to kick off the visit.

He said the delegation will meet with other officials to discuss various issues. “Will have multiple official meetings to strengthen humanitarian and economic engagement,” Khan said in a tweet.
