ECP bars PM from visiting Lower Dir
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has barred Prime Minister Imran Khan from visiting Lower Dir.
A meeting is scheduled by PTI in Lower Dir on January 27 in which besides PM Imran Khan, provincial leaders of PTI are expected to participate. Jamaat-e-Islami has also called an all-party conference tomorrow against the prime minister s visit.
It may be recalled that the Election Commission has announced that polling for the second phase of local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be held on March 27.
According to the announcement, nomination papers can be submitted from February 7 to 11, the results of the second round of elections will be announced on April 1, 2021.
A letter written by the Election Commissioner to Deputy Commissioner Lower Dir to stop public meeting stated that the PM cannot visit the constituency after the election schedule, the visit of the prime minister would be a violation of the rules.
