LAHORE (Dunya News) - Light rain in parts of the provincial capital Lahore in the wee hours of Thursday turned the weather cold, Dunya News reported. The rain is expected to bring the level of smog in Lahore considerably down.

According to Met Office, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while partly cloudy in upper parts during the next 24 hours. However, rain/snow is expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Fog and smog is likely to prevail in plain areas of Punjab.

Meanwhile, weather remained cold and dry weather over most parts of the country, while very cold in hilly areas during the past 24 hours. Lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Skardu and Gupis where mercury fell to -10 °C in the past 24 hours.
