LAHORE (Dunya News) – A sketch of an accused allegedly involved in harassing and insulting woman travelling in a Qingqi rickshaw near Minar-e-Pakistan on Independence Day on Friday.
According to the police, after preparing sketch by the concerned authorities, it has been sent to police stations in the city to arrest the accused who was caught on camera insulting women.
Two arrested suspects were presented before local court and they were sent to jail for identification parade.
The Punjab police claimed to have detained two suspects involved in harassing the woman who was travelling in rickshaw. One suspect who filmed the viral video of a group of women being sexually harassed inside a rickshaw is also included.
Earlier, police had identified the accused who harassed and molested a young girl sitting in a rickshaw near Greater Iqbal Park at Bus Stop.
After the undated video went viral on social media, the police took action and immediately identified the accused. The police also claimed to identify the accused s companion who captured the video of incident.
Police have registered a case against 10 to 12 motorcyclists for harassing, molesting a girl sitting in a rickshaw at Lari Ada police station.
A case was registered against 10 to 12 motorcyclists. The identification of the harassers is underway and Police have obtained a record of safe city cameras installed in the vicinity of the park.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar ordered the immediate arrest of the harasser who harassed and committed immoral act with a girl sitting in the rickshaw and demanded a report from IG Punjab.
After the video of the Minar e Pakistan incident in which a female TikToker was being assaulted by crowds of men on August 14 in Lahore went viral, the video has left viewers shocked and evoking sharp denunciation from social media users.
Another video reportedly from the same day has surfaced on social media in which it can be that a girl was molested by a man who chased her while she was sitting in a rickshaw.
In the said video two women can be seen sitting in a rickshaw on a busy road of Lahore when a man chased and jumped onto the footboard of the vehicle and apparently molested a young girl.
IG Punjab has sought a report of the incident from CCPO Lahore and has issued orders to identify and arrest the accused with the help of Safe City cameras.
