Sindh govt delays reopening of schools for one week

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has announced that schools will remain closed for one more week in the province.

Talking to media, the chief minister said that schools would start classes from August 30. He said that all the teachers, staff and parents should be vaccinated within one week.

Talking about the water crises in the province, Murad Ali Shah asked the federation to give Sindh its share of water. He said, at present, we are facing 19% shortfall. IRSA will have to cooperate with us, if it continues to make decisions on its own, the crises will hit the supply of drinking water in the cities, he added.

He said that the water level in Keenjhar Lake is 47.2 feet, adding that 36,000 cusecs of water is coming from Kotri, which will decrease in a week, Keenjhar Lake will also get less water, we may face severe crisis, Chashma Jhelum and Taunsa are both running.
