Youm-e-Ashur observed with due solemnity

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Youm-e-Ashur was observed with due solemnity across the country on Thursday to pay homage to the supreme sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain Razi Allah ho Ta ala Anho and his devoted companions in Karbala.

Mourning processions were taken out in various cities and towns, which passed through their traditional routes and culminated at their fixed points.

Ulema and Zakireen highlighted the bright and candid teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A.) and various aspects of Karbla tragedy.

Elaborate security arrangements were in place and all security related departments were fully alert to avoid any untoward incident during the mourning processions.

In Rawalpindi, the central procession of Ashura emerged from Imambargah Col. Maqbool Hussain and culminated at Imambargah Qadeemi after passing through its designated route.

Sabeels of water, milk and tea had also been set up along the route of the procession in remembrance of the situation faced by Hazrat Imam Hussain Razi Allah Ta ala Anho and his companions in Karbala.

Strict security measures were in place to ensure peace and security.

In Lahore, main procession of 10th Muharram-ul-Haram was taken out from Nisar Haveli inside Mochi Gate and it culminated at Karbala Gaamay Shah.

In Peshawar, the central procession of Ashura was taken out from Imam Bargah Agha Syed Ali shah Qissa Khwani Bazaar and after passing through its traditional route terminated at its starting point in the evening.

Similar processions were also taken out in Kohat, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Kurram and Dera Ismail Khan districts.

Aerial surveillance of the routes was carried out.

In Karachi, processions of 10th Muharram-ul-Haram were taken out from various parts of Karachi.

The main procession from Nishtar Park, after passing through the traditional route, culminated at Imam Bargah-e-Iranian Hussaini.

Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Police and other law enforcement agencies personnel were deployed on the route and cellular services were also partially suspended.

In Quetta, main mourning procession was taken out from Nichari Imambargah at Alamdar Road this morning and it culminated at starting point in the evening.

More than six thousand and five hundred police jawans and officers were deployed for security of Ashura processions in Quetta city.

In Azad Jammu Kashmir, Tazia, Alam and Zuljinnah processions of Ashura were taken out in all major cities and towns including Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Kotli, Bagh, Bhimber, Sudhanoti, Haveili, Rawalakot, and Neelam valley.

After passing through their traditional routes, the processions terminated at the main imambargahs this evening.

All three stations of Azad Kashmir Radio Mirpur, Tararkheil and Muzaffarabad aired special programs to highlight the biggest tragedy in Islamic history depicting the supreme sacrifices of the Karbala martyrs.

In Gilgit Baltistan, mourning processions of Tazia, Alam and Zuljanah were taken out in all towns and cities to pay homage to supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain RA and his devoted companions.
