Civil armed forces to be deployed in sensitive areas for security during Muharram: Sh Rashid

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid on Thursday said that Civil Armed Forces will be deployed in sensitive areas in view of the security situation during holy month of Muharram.
A special meeting was held in the Interior Ministry regarding law and order during Muharram with Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed in chair. The meeting was also attended by representatives of federal government, Punjab, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan law enforcement agencies and Home Secretary Yousuf Naseem Khokhar.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Rashid said that law and order should be ensured in the holy month of Muharram at all cost, adding that the federal government would provide all resources and facilities for law and order.
He said that Civil Armed Forces would be deployed to assist the administration in maintaining law and order, adding that special measures will be taken for the security of sensitive areas.
“I will also visit the provincial capitals to review the law and order situation,” he said and added steps will be taken to promote religious harmony during Muharram.
