Flood warning as Nullah Lai swells

Water is rising in Rawalpindis Nullah Lai at the Katarian point, prompting flood alert.

Recent rains in the city have caused the Nullah to swell. Three people were reported drowned in the Nullah, while Rescue 1122 have recovered their bodies. On account of rising water, the areas along the Nullah have been given advance flood warning. Rescue 1122 found the body of a 22-year-old youth from Jhanda Chichian while a child and another youth body from Dhok Chaudhrian and Dhok Ratta respectively.Talking to Dunya News, Rawalpindi DCO Saqib Nisar said two children drowned; one of them was saved by Rescue staff. He said Health, Livestock, civil Defence and Army have been put on standby to meet with any eventuality. On the other hand, spillways of the Rawal Dam have been opened.
