Trains delayed by 15 hours

Trains were delayed by more than 15 hours in different cities of the country.

In Leyyah, Shor Kot and Lahore, the stranded passengers had to face tremendous problems augmented by hot and humid weather.The irked passengers shouted slogans against Railways officials and the government.The Khushhal Express that was to leave from Karachi to Peshawar on July 17 could not set off reportedly due to a fault in its three engines.Irritated passengers at Kot Sultan Railways Station threw stones on the train and beat up the driver. They also sought resignation of the Railways minster.The Multan Express was stranded for three hours at the Shor Kot Railways station due to a fault in its engine. Elderly men and children were unconscious due to heat and suffocation.The passengers also raised voice against Railways officials over their poor performance. Likewise, the Shamas Express from Lahore to Multan was also delayed by many hours.The agonised passengers protested against the Railways officials citing once again a mechanical fault in the train.
