NCOC directed all Indian personnel, their families and drivers to quarantine

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The wife of one of the officers of members of the Indian diplomatic staff and their families who had arrived in Pakistan through Wagah border on Sunday has tested positive for coronavirus.

In view of the coronavirus situation in India, the staff of the Indian Embassy had been directed to fully comply with the guidelines of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC).

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, 12 Indian High Commission officials, including their families had arrived in Pakistan on May 22 via Wagah. Health safety protocols related to Coronavirus were completely followed on this occasion.

FO spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry said that the Covid tests of all the passengers on departure from India had returned negative, however, the coronavirus test of the wife of an Indian official came out positive on arrival in Pakistan.

He said that the NCOC has reviewed the case and directed all Indian personnel, their families and drivers to quarantine.
