ECP to convene meeting on issue of electronic voting after Eid
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to convene a meeting on the issue of presidential reference regarding internet and electronic voting saying that reference was issued without taking ECP into confidence.
Sources said that the federal government has issued a presidential ordinance without taking the Election Commission into confidence. The ECP s concerns about internet voting and electronic voting machines have not been addressed.
The meeting on the Election Commission s Presidential Ordinance will review the ordinance on Internet voting and electronic voting machines after Eid.
The Election Commission will once again inform the Federal Government of its concerns regarding the Ordinance after meeting.
