CM Buzdar visits different parts of Lahore, examines implementation on coronavirus SOPs

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Ahmed Buzdar on Sunday has visited different parts of Lahore without protocol and examined the implementation of restrictions and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by the people against COVID-19.

According to sources, the CM appreciated the administration, Pakistan Army and business community for observing SOPs and strict implementation to prevent the spread of deadly virus in the city.

On the occasion, he said that the infection can be controlled only by strictly following precautionary measures.

The move came after Pakistan reported 113 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 829,933. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 18,070 on Sunday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 4,414 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths and cases followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 8,550 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,658 in Sindh, 3,350 in KP, 691 in Islamabad, 477 in Azad Kashmir, 237 in Balochistan, and 107 in GB.

Furthermore, 304,889 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 284,738 in Sindh, 119,277 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 75,892 in Islamabad, 22,528 in Balochistan, 17,297 in Azad Kashmir and 5,312 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
