Those involved in Tahir Plaza tragedy should be brought to justice: Afaq Ahmed

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Mohajir Qaumi Movement chief Afaq Ahmed has said that those involved in the Tahir Plaza tragedy should be brought to justice. The MQM leader also urged the government to provide alternative accommodation to the displaced affectees of Gujjar Nullah.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Mohajir Qaumi Moment Chairman Afaq Ahmed said that PTI’s federal government has left Karachi destitute and its citizens disappointed. Karachi’s businessmen are being fined and extorted in the name of coronavirus SOPs, he added.

Afaq Ahmed said that 4,000 people were displaced during the cleaning of Gujjar Nullah. He said that before demolishing the buildings, the Supreme Court should take action against the officials who gave the permission to construct them.

He said that PPP is working for the province despite corruption, adding that Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s refusal to recognize the Sindh census in the Council of Common Interests was a bold and welcome move.
