PM Imran to visit Gilgit-Baltistan on April 12

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on will visit Gilgit Baltistan April 12 (Monday).

Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Ameen Khan Gandapur and Federal Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haque will accompany the prime minister.

PM Imran Khan s day-long visit to Gilgit-Baltistan had been postponed due to unsuitable weather conditions on April 5 and will now visit on April 12 where he will attend the main function to be held at the Chief Minister s Secretariat.

The prime minister will also hold meetings with Gilgit-Baltistan cabinet members and other officials. He will be briefed on the resolution of the Legislative Assembly to make Gilgit-Baltistan a province.

Imran Khan will also announce a historic package of Rs 275 billion for Gilgit-Baltistan. In addition, programs for the promotion of infrastructure, tourism, energy and social welfare will also be decided.

Under the package, 3G and 4G internet facility will be provided to Gilgit-Baltistan. Youth and women development programs will also be launched. Construction of new grid stations are also included in the package.

Construction of new grid stations, the launch of hydropower and health card programs would also be announced during his visit. In addition, vocational training programs for government employees in Gilgit-Baltistan would also be part of the package.
