Chaudhry Nisar has not taken oath as MPA Punjab Assembly

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar may lose their respective seats as cabinet committee on Law has approved amendments in Election Act 2017.

According to the ordinance, elected representatives must take oath with 60 days otherwise the seat will become vacant and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will deseat such lawmakers after promulgation of the ordinance.

It is pertinent to mention here that Chaudhry Nisar won election on a seat of Punjab Assembly but has not taken oath nor participated in any session of the assembly.

Meanwhile Ishaq Dar has also not taken oath as member of Senate as he is residing in London.
