1138 killed in 6 months in Karachi

As many as 1138 people have been killed in Karachi violence from January to June this year.

Out of these, 490 people, including 9 women and 4 children, fell victim to target killing. According to a human rights report released from Karachi, 250 of the people who died in target killing didn’t have any political affiliation. The report said that 648 people were killed incidents other than target killings. Thirty-four people were killed in encounters while 41 policemen also lost their lives. The report said 137 people were killed after abduction. The report expressed concern over inaction of security forces owing to political constraints.
