Public Accounts Committee orders investigation into Broadsheet scandal

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has ordered a full investigation into the Broadsheet scandal. Rana Tanveer said that who paid how much money and when, everything will be investigated.

A meeting was held in the Parliament under the chairmanship of Chairman Public Accounts Committee Rana Tanveer in which Rana Tanveer said that no action is taken when Public Accounts Committee issues production orders of any member. On which Ayaz Sadiq said that the Speaker National Assembly cannot stop the production orders issued by any committee chairman.

Boycotting the PAC, Sheikh Rohail Asghar said that the reputation of the Public Accounts Committee in the cabinet was affected. Raja Perveez Ashraf said that there was a serious allegation in the cabinet that PAC handles audit objections after taking billions of rupees.

Chairman Public Accounts Committee Rana Tanveer while talking to media said that a report has been sought from NAB and Auditor General on January 19 on broadsheet issue.

The Auditor General has been directed to inquire into the Broadsheet case, stating when the Broadsheet services were procured, when the contract was canceled and how much was paid.

Rana Tanveer said that a complete investigation into the broadsheet will be done. The Prime Minister has said that who canceled the broadsheet contract, we will tell. He said that a letter would be written to the Cabinet Secretary on the issue of allegations in the cabinet meeting on PAC, first it would be decided whether this matter was discussed in the cabinet or not.
