Shahid Khaqan Abbasi given one-time permission to go abroad

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The federal government has allowed senior PML-N leader and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to go abroad for one time only.

According to details, a summary has been approved by the Interior Ministry, according to which the federal government has removed the name of former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi from the ECL and allowed him to fly abroad.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi wanted to go abroad to visit his ailing sister but his name was included in the ECL on the recommendation of NAB.

It is pertinent to mention here that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed a reference against nine suspects – including former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi – in the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import contract case in an Islamabad’s accountability court.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is on bail granted by Islamabad High Court against surety bonds of Rs10 million.
