IPEMC to take decision on opening of educational institutions on Jan 4

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) will be held on January 4 to take the decision regarding opening of schools in the country in the wake of the second Covid-19 wave.

The meeting, which will be headed by Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood and attended by all provincial education ministers, will discuss the spike in coronavirus cases in the country as well as the opening of educational institutions.

The meeting will also consider reducing winter and summer vacations. In addition, the new academic year 2020-21 will be considered to start in August 2021 and the national education policy will also be considered.

A notification has been issued in this regard by the ministry of education stating that the 25th Inter-Provincial Education Ministers  Conference will be held through video link at 11.30 in the morning. The conference will be chaired by Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood.
