Dr Firdous terms PDM's Lahore rally a flop show

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awqan on Sunday declared the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) Lahore rally a flop show.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Sunday, she said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s rally at Minar-e-Pakistan was way bigger than the rally of an 11-party alliance.

The special assistant said that the people of Lahore have rejected PDM rally, adding that the people of Lahore have confined them in the corner of Greater Iqbal Park.

Dr Firdous went on to say that the cameras were telling the story of the rejected political orphans.

Criticising Maryam Nawaz, she said that the princess distributed invitations against the royal etiquette for the rallies in the streets but one player has beaten eleven players.

The special assistant said that the PDM was a pack of 11 parties which wants increase in corona cases, adding that the unnatural alliance was using cheap tactics for protecting the wealth collected by them through money-laundering.

She said the opposition was a group of fools as they were not realising the alarming situation of COVID-19, she added. The fake princess of Jati Umra and her maids were creating hue and cry, she added.

The SACM said that 31 patients died due to corona in Punjab during the last 24 hours. The number of new corona patients was 686 and Lahore had 62,085 active corona patients, she said. The number of corona patients in Punjab had reached 127,212, she added.

Dr Firdous said that 3,351 corona patients had lost their lives so far in Punjab. She said that the negative politics of a princess, a prince, the Maulana and their cronies had been rejected by the public.


No barriers placed to stop Lahore rally


Earlier today, talking to media, she said that government has not placed any barriers to stop Lahore rally of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

Dr Awan said that government is righting the wrongs including economic crisis, poor law and order situation and destruction of institutions by the previous governments.

She, while calling PDM Lahore rally a political circus said it is against the law. Government has not stopped any of the participants of the rally and not even a single obstacle can be seen anywhere in the Punjab, she added.

Earlier, in a tweet, the CM’s aide said that today is the day to distinguish between protectors and enemies of the country.

PDM’s stick-wielding group is fighting against the elected government of PTI, she stated.

The special assistant further alleged opposition parties of intentionally putting the lives of their supporters into danger by arranging public gathering amid covid-19 outbreak.
