Rangers personnel indicted in Sarfraz Shah murder case

The accused in Sarfraz Shah murder case have been indicted by an anti-terrorism court in Karachi.

An anti-terrorism court in Karachi under Bashir Ahmad Khoso as a judge indicted Rangers personnel in Sarfraz Shah murder case.The court will record statements of 17 witnesses tomorrow. Earlier, the Supreme Court had transferred the Sarfraz Shah murder case to an anti-terrorism court in Karachi.Rangers had shot dead Sarfaraz Shah, 22, in Karachi on June 8 after accusing him of robbery but his family demanded justice, insisting that he was an innocent student.The daylight murder was filmed live by a local cameraman and subsequently broadcast round the clock on national television channels. The brutality of trained security officers in uniform shocked the country.Prosecutor Mohammad Khan Buriro said all seven accused pleaded not guilty to the murder and terrorism charges.Defence lawyer Mohammad Ramzan Syed said his clients will prove innocence.
