Monsoon rains begin in Pakistan: PMD

Weather turned pleasant following rains in Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, ending the heat wave.

According to the Meteorological Department of Pakistan (PMD), the monsoon rains have started as the monsoon winds have entered the country in full force. As a result, met office has predicted that sporadic rains are likely to continue in upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.Torrential rain in Islamabad left all the roads submerged in water as the low lying areas were flooded. The Met office said that the monsoon rains would continue in upper Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in this week.
