Complaints lodged against Ayaz Sadiq in Lahore and Islamabad

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Two complaints have been lodged against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ayaz Sadiq over his statement regarding release of Indian fighter pilot Abhinandan Varthaman. Both complaints were lodged on Friday in Lahore and Islamabad.

According to details, the first complaint was submitted in Lahore’s Civil Lines Police Station. Police have forwarded it to legal department for consultation. Police officials maintained that action over the complaint will be taken as per the law.

The second complaint was submitted to the Secretariat Police Station, Islamabad. Syed Junaid Hussain Shah, the complainant, stated that the controversial statement of Ayaz Sadiq has hurt the sentiments of the nation. The statement was an attempt to tarnish Pakistan’s image globally, he alleged.

The complaint said that Ayaz Sadiq attempted to please the enemy country by criticizing the state institutions. It demanded immediate action and exemplary punishment against the PML-N leader.

On the other hand, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz said in his tweet that the matter of Ayaz Sadiq’s statement has gone beyond apology as the law will come into effect now.

Weakening the state is an unforgivable crime and Ayaz Sadiq and his supporters must be punished for that, the minister stressed.
