Electricity shortfall reaches 5,469 megawatt

The daily power outage of 20 hours a day in Peshawar leaves people hapless.

According to Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO), the country is generating 13,252 megawatt of electricity while the current demand is 18,721 megawatt so the country is facing a power deficit of 5,469 megawatt.The dispute between the administration and workers of the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation could not be settled and the citizen have to suffer long hours of power outage.To meet the deficit of 700 megawatt up to 16 hours a day power outage has been imposed in Quetta.The ever increasing power suspension has intensified the trouble of people in Sukkur.The power outage has crippled the industry and trade in various cities of Punjab. The daily power outage has reached up to 20 hours a day in Peshawar.
