Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan to increase cooperation

President Zardari presented a proposal of Pakistan-Iran joint operations in Afghanistan.

President Asif Ali Zardari, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and President Hamid Karzai participated at the press conference in Tehran. President Zardari said that Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran need to increase cooperation to achieve stability and also need to agree on joint efforts to ensure peace in the region.President Ahmadinejad also met with the Pakistani delegation led by President Zardari in a private session. Both the leaders agreed in increasing economic cooperation and cooperation against terrorism.President Zardari said that a lot of planning has been done on the Pak-Iran gas pipeline and now we need to work towards its implementation. President Zardari also presented a proposal of Pakistan-Iran joint operations in Afghanistan.President’s spokesperson Frahatullah Babur, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Petroleum Minister Dr Asim Hussain and Bakhtwar Bhutto Zardari were also present in the meeting.
