Institutions should take notice of Nawaz Sharif's speech: Shibli Faraz
He said Nawaz Sharif is defying the law of our country while sitting abroad
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Syed Shibli Faraz on Sunday said that former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif was looking healthy and well, making it clear that the ailment was a pretext to go abroad.
Responding to the PML-N leader’s diatribe against national institutions and PTI government on Sunday, he said that his virtual address in the All Parties Conference (APC) has mocked the judicial system after the court allowed him to go abroad for treatment and the institutions should take notice of Sharif s speech.
The minister said that the former PM’s speech depicts their intentions against FATF bill, adding that anti-institutional campaign was also evident in Nawaz Sharif s speech. “It should be probed as to whose narrative he is following and working,” he added.
“Nawaz Sharif claimed that polls were managed in the past but before making such statements, he should remember that he remained prime minister for three times while Imran Khan had been elected prime minister for the first time,” the minister said.
Shibli Faraz went on to say that all was fine for them [opposition] during their tenures but democracy was suddenly endangered when they assumed a role in the opposition.
Nawaz Sharif is defying the law of our country while sitting abroad, he said. “If the PML-N supremo is a benefactor of Pakistan then he should come to the country by selling properties abroad, which worth billions of rupees,” he said.
The minister further said instead of asking money trail from Prime Minister Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif should appear before the court of law and demanded him to return to Pakistan if he wanted to serve the country.
He said Imran Khan had already provided his 40-years-old money trail and the court had declared him honest and righteous.
Regarding NAB cases against opposition, Shibli Faraz said the anti-graftwatchdog chairman was jointly appointed by both the opposition parties and when Nawaz Sharif was in government, he did not abolish or amend NAB law. “As soon as cases were filed against the PML-N leader, he started hue and cry,” he added.
The minister said: “Today s APC was aimed at putting aside the corruption cases against the opposition, adding that the whole nation is paying the cost of this opposition s bad policies.” “There was nothing new in the address of the former premier in APC, who had made similar speeches during the general election 2018 campaign.
Regarding media freedom, he said PM Imran Khan has given clear instructions not to take action against the media and it was good that Nawaz Sharif s speech was broadcast live and he himself was exposed.
Earlier today, the information minister said that the All Parties Conference is a flimsy attempt to put pressure on the government to back off, on accountability.
In a post on social-networking website Twitter, the minister said nation has witnessed that opposition has used politics for personal gains and used parliament to protect their personal empires.

PMIK will never compromise his commitment on corruption. Hence no NRO.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan will never compromise his commitment on corruption. Hence no NRO will be given.
The reaction came after much-hyped 11-party Opposition All Parties Conference (APC) being hosted by Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was held in Islamabad.
