The PDMA said 110 houses partially while 13 were completely destroyed because of rains

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – At least 30 people were killed and 38 others wounded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to monsoon rains.

The KP’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said that 110 houses partially while 13 were completely destroyed because of rains and relief operations are underway in the affected areas.

The PDMA said that its emergency operations center is fully operational and appealed the tourists to exercise caution.

The authority also warned residents of Nowshera and Charsadda, who live near rivers flowing through the two districts, to take necessary precautionary measures.

Monsoon rains have continued to lash different KP districts, including Buner, Shangla, Kohistan and Swat, said the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

On the other hand, the water level in rivers is rising due to rains in different parts of Punjab. Around 355,000 cusecs of water was flowing in the Indus River in Layyah.

The flood water entered nearby localities and crops after which evacuation orders have been issued. River Chenab is also in Low Flood at Trimmu while other main rivers (Jhelum, Ravi & Sutlej) are normal.

Alert has also been issued to all departments due to expected flood situation in Rahim Yar Khan. Rahim Yar Khan Deputy Commissioner Ali Shehzad said that all arrangements were finalized to cope with feared flood situation.

He directed to monitor flood points and riverside areas carefully,adding that timely information should be provided to local administration and others departments concerned as the water flow in the river recorded as median. He directed all tehsils Assistant Commissioners to set up field relief camps in the district and checked the arrangements there.
