Doctor Baqir Shah, who performed post mortem of Kharotabad victims, subjected to torture by police.

Talking to the media, Dr Baqir said that he was subjected to torture by police when he was sitting at a Prince Road hotel. He said that he could recognise the police officials who were involved in torturing him. He also appealed to register a case against the police officials.Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General Operations, Hamid Shkeel, inquired after Dr Baqir’s health at the DMC Hospital and informed that Inspector General Balochistan has taken notice of the incident. He also informed that the Station House Officers (SHOs) of the City and Gawalmandi police stations have been dismissed.Earlier, Dr Baqir, in his testimony before the tribunal, denied that pieces of hand grenade were found from the bodies of Kharotabad victims.The driver, who carried the foreigners, was firm in his statement that the victims were unarmed. He looked nervous and did not disclose the name of the police officer who forced him to record a false statement before the tribunal. Later, he was barred from talking to the media and was taken away by the police officials.
