Guard killed in Islamabad suicide blast

A security guard was killed and many others were injured in a suicide blast in Islamabad.

According to Deputy Inspector General of Police Binyamin, it was a suicide attack.The suicide bomber tried to enter the bank, but he blew himself up when the security guard tried to stop him, he said.According to rescue 1122 sources, the blast occurred in the premises of a private bank in Sector-8.The personnel of law enforcement agencies have reached the blast site and started rescue operation.The bank building has been damaged in the blast while the authorities have found the head of the suicide bomber.At least nine blast victims are admitted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment.According to an eye-witness, he has seen many people being transported to the hospital. However, he could not definitely say how many people were killed or injured in the blast.President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani have condemned the suicide blast in the bank.Interior Minister Rehman Malik has announced Sitara-e-Shujaat for the martyred guard.
