GHA to reopen OPDs across Sindh after successful talks with Govt
KARACHI (Dunya News) - After two weeks of protests, the Grand Health Alliance (GHA) leaders has announced to open the Out Patient Departments (OPDs) across Sindh from Tuesday after successful talks with provincial ministers.
Grand Health Alliance leaders held talks with provincial ministers Saeed Ghani and Nasir Hussain Shah at the campus office. Doctors, nurses and paramedics has announced to end the protest after ministers assured them fulfillment of the demands.
According to the leaders of Grand Health Alliance, OPDs will be opened in all government hospitals across Sindh from Tuesday. Dr. Mehboob Noonari said that all health workers will be given Health Risk Allowance from March 2020 and a separate isolation ward will be set up for staff affected by Coronavirus.
He said that there would be no compromise on the security of hospitals and anyone involved in the violence will be prosecuted according to law. Medical staff will be promoted from grade 11 to 12 and doctors will be promoted immediately from grade 17 to 18. In the next two weeks, the Finance Division will issue notifications of all the demands of the Grand Health Alliance.
