Prime Minister Gilani received President Karzai at the Prime Ministers House.
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Saturday in their one-on-one meeting focused on issues relating to the reconciliation process and peace and security in the region.The two leaders also discussed bilateral ties with special focus on enhancing joint efforts for peace as a requisite for prosperity and development in both countries.Gilani and Karzai will also address a joint press conference at the end of their meeting.President Karzai is on an official visit to Pakistan and he had a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardri yesterday and held a joint press conference with him.Earlier, a meeting between Pak-Afghan delegations was held in Islamabad.Interior Minister Rehman Malik led the Pakistani delegation while Afghan Interior Minister Bismillah Mohammadi headed the Afghan delegation. The exemption of visa for diplomatic passport holders was discussed in the talks. Besides, intelligence sharing, border management and bilateral ties were also discussed. Malik said that both sides agreed that a biometric system would be installed at Pak-Afghan borders in three weeks.He said that a joint task force would also be formed against insurgents.Afghan Interior Minister Bismillah Mohammadi said that Pak-Afghan border agreements would be implemented.
