Young doctors, paramedical staff end strike in Quetta

YDA and paramedical staff in Quetta ended their strike after successful talks with Balochistan govt.
QUETTA (Dunya News) - Young doctors and paramedical staff in Quetta ended their strike after successful talks with the Balochistan government on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.
The announcement to call off strike and protest came during a press conference jointly addressed by provincial minister Zmarak Khan Achakzai and Young Doctors Association (YDA) president Dr Yasir Achakzai.
Speaking on the occasion, Zmarak Khan Achakzai said that all doctors are our frontline heroes and a forward force in fight against coronavirus and assured provision of personal protection equipment (PPE) kits to all medical practitioners working against coronavirus (COVID-19) at hospitals.
On Monday Young Doctors Association (YDA) and other paramedical staff protested against lack of safety kits in hospitals of Balochistan. Doctors and paramedics blocked roads and boycotted all duties to lodge protest against lack of safety equipment in hospitals of the province.
On the other hand police used lathi-charged and arrested several protesters to disperse the crowd.
