Iran demands increase in power tariff

Iran has demanded of Pakistan to increase in electricity price by 11 cent per unit.

According to sources, Iran has demanded that the power tariff should be in accordance with the oil prices in global markets.Additionally, Pakistan has also been asked to bear the operational and maintenance charges on the imported electricity.Pakistan currently imports 39 megawatts of electricity from Iran at the price of 6.5 cent per unit.The sources further said that a Pakistani delegation would visit Iran this month to discuss the issue of power tariff.
